Candle Care
Wick Trimming: Candle wicks should be no more than 1/4 to 3/4 of an inch long and should always be trimmed before your Haremesque candle is lit. If smoking occurs, your wicks are too long. Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame, trim wicks, remove trimmings, and then relight. Long wicks shed debris and do not provide proper oxygen flow to the flame, which will also lead to flickering, uneven heating and could possibly affect the fragrance of your candle.
Always, always trim your wicks! It will lengthen your candle's life.
Burn Time: Your Haremesque candle should be burned for approx. 3-4 hours, or until the pool of melted wax covers the top of the candle entirely. We do not advise burning candles longer than the maximum recommended burn time.
Never leave burning candles unattended.
Drafts: Haremesque candles burn best in still air. Always place candles on a flat, level surface away from drafts and combustibles. Drafts will cause a flickering flame and uneven heating, which will lead to an uneven melt pool.
Emergency: In an emergency, never try to extinguish a flame with water. Use baking soda to put out the flame.
Storage: Candles are sensitive to extreme temperatures and light. Keep your Haremesque candles out of direct sunlight and florescent light to prevent melting, fading and warping. Always store candles in an upright position in a cool, dry place to avoid color fading, melting or cracking.
